Wow Karin so much in this wonderful substack I don't know where to start ! Don't think there is enough paper lol. I think your confidence has nothing to do with your age or external things but it's some internal thing. I'm going to be 69 and I still cringe at the phone and confidence what is that ! lol. You are such a kind and talented person and your drawings are so heartfelt and wonderful. You should be so proud of yourself. This next few weeks sound overwhelming but some deep breaths and you will get there and be in your beautiful new home.

I too hated the woolf whistles etc when younger, made you feel so uncomfortable and out there. I better stop before I run out of room . Now just to go and disconnect that phone 😂. Much love xxx

A lot of my friends feel more freedom to speak to people now they're older, but at 67 I still hate having having to talk to people in person or on the phone, but emails I can do.

This morning I had a text to say a delivery was coming this afternoon, so Alex and I popped out for about an hour in the morning. We had hardly left when a text came through to say our delivery had come and we weren't there so we need to reschedule. I emailed the depot to point out we weren't there because the driver was 2 hours early, and they contacted the driver and told him to come back at the right time ... and he did!

Absolutely loved this. It made me smile. I have long since proudly adjusted to being an old bat. It's a wonderful thing to be. Growing old disgracefully is an absolutely wonderful thing, grey hair, wrinkles and all

thanks so much Tracey, here's to being old bats!

Thank you SO much for the mention, it is always so life affirming meeting up and I think your Shed is like the Tardis in terms of time travel and other worldliness, one minute it’s 12 noon and the next time I look up it’s 4pm 🤣

I love my old batdom and I glory in my old age, I think that's because I've seen so many people so much younger than me not have that chance, it makes me realise what a privilege it is. And just now, before reading this, I was walking home from the shops and ruminating on introspection and how I've always defined myself as introverted, but now, strangely, I'm not so sure I fit quite so neatly into that. I was thinking about how I'm so much more comfortable with myself now it's made me comfortable with others, and how being generous and kind to myself has made me so with others too, so we've kind of been thinking along the same lines. I'd love to read more about your amazing family.

I love we have been pondering the same! I’ll have to do a post about the family one day
