This house was meant to be your home Karin. It's so lovely and individual just like you. You had such a tough road to get to it but you made it. I'm so happy you have found such a great place ! It sounds wonderful.

I think it's OK to keep calling it The Shed. To me The Shed isn't necessarily a specific place, it's more of a concept, a magical, fantasy location. Also there's definitely precedent for places moving but keeping the same name even though technically it doesn't apply any more (e.g. Scotland Yard).

I quite like the shed and yes I think you are right! The Shed has become more than a building!

When the Chokliteers met at Chepstow, I chose a toasted cheese and Kimchi sandwich for lunch. It was so yummy I vowed to make one once I had made some Kimchi. My Kimchi came to the end of its 21 day ferment today. So mature cheddar and kimchi toastie😋😋😋🧀🥪

oh wow! I have yet to try it!

I enjoy a frittata with veggies and bacon in it. I often have it for dinner, and, of course, it's lovely for brekkie or brinch, too. The last one ha onions, mushrooms, zucchini, and spinach (all cooked in a bit of olive oil in my cast iron skillet on the stove before adding to the egg mixture). I do eggs and greek yogurt in a mixing bowl and tgen add tge veggies and bacon and shredded cheese. A good mixing, then into a deep pie dish and into the oven to bake after being topped with more cheese.

I like the room for the making of the creatures. I think of it as King Norty's Bumble room, or better yet, Bumble Palace.

Enjoy your new home, new life routines, and all the lovely energies surrounding ypu. xx

I am so happy for you! The home sounda devine. Having you family within walking distance is amazing, so blessed. You could call the studio a den or form or warren- places where wild animals are born. Or Sanctuary?

When I bought this house it was supposed to close in November 2017 but my old house sale fell through until January 2018 but I had already moved my stuff to the driveway of new house and rented for 3 months. Our first night here was heaven- slept though and felt as if the house was hugging us. I still get goosebumps when I come home, not bad goosebumps but good ones. I love my home.

I am so happy for you and know you are on cloud 9.

All the best for you and the critters!

So glad you found your goosebump place! X

it sounds marvellous ❤️

I was amused yesterday to hear you recount the shambles left behind when you finally got in to your dream house.

When we moved in here, the previous owners had also taken everything- including all the beautiful plants from the garden! The indoor 'hidden' woodwork (windows, tops of doors, skirting boards etc) was so dirty it was like touching tar, sticky black disgusting stuff. We went to open the backdoor and it was completely rotted ... the neighbours said they had thought it strange they always came out the front door to go to the back garden. I opened a window and had to suddenly grab with my other hand to stop it falling onto the path below ... all the windows had rotted frames. The hall was riddled with woodworm ... and there were three holes in the gas pipes! One to the lounge heater, one to the cooker, and the other by the meter! How they didn't blow themselves up I don't know 😱 and the boiler was completely capput!! We had even paid for a survey to be done yet none of this ... and more ... had been picked up.

But, we were so happy to have our dream house. 48 years later and I still love it.

Karin Celestine's avatar

I hope you got your money back on the survey!! That’s terrible

it was done through the Building Society and they were like, so do you want the house? of course we did so it was just a shrug of the shoulders. No ombudsmen or such in those days.

How delightful and inspiring to read about your discoveries in your new home! Keep sharing on your journey. I am a vicarious traveler.

Karin Celestine's avatar

I will indeed!

Oooh, be grateful you're not in Germany, where they take the entire kitchen when they move! 🤣

I'm so happy that you're so happy in your new house! Happy Unpacking, dear! xx

Karin Celestine's avatar

Thanks and yep me too 😂

So good to hear that the trauma of moving is finally behind you and that your new home and neighbours are so welcoming. Clearly meant to be🙂.

I'm sure Lupin will love it as much as you once he gets his bearings.

I'm so sad to be missing Compton and catching up with my Chokliteer friends. Next time, hopefully

Karin Celestine's avatar

Gutted you aren’t coming but hopefully see you soon x

It makes me so happy to read all of this and I agree about shaking things up because there's always something to be discovered when the dust settles. Can't wait for Lupin to see his garden!

Karin Celestine's avatar

He’s going to love the walks here too!
